Weight loss

Whilst standing near those pesky cakes at work today I realised that I have been attempting to diet properly since last October and still haven't managed it! I just keep breaking the habit every once in a while. So now I'm giving myself 2 weeks to commit to a diet. I'm giving up sugar which is a lot more difficult than it sounds and more importantly means... NO TEA!?!?! I don't know how I'm going to manage it but I must! Working out to old Jane Fonda videos, having 3 meals a day and doing 50 sit-ups will be my way of slimming down. It's a shame healthy food costs so much. I bought a box of grapes from Tesco on my way home and the original price said £2.67. FOR SOME GRAPES. Seriously, mainly water with quite a big of sugar and it's the price of a McDonalds kids happy meal and then some? No wonder everyone's fat and getting fatter. I know I don't have to lose much but I want my stomach to look as flat as it did before and it just doesn't happen by magic! Being small isn't so good either. So this is me confirming my diet to the virtual world and hoping I'll hereby stick to it.

  1. You should count calories! I lost 15lbs (one stone?) in under two months (it was grueling) by counting calories. If you have an iPhone or iTouch you can use the program Lose It! or if you're broke like me, use a calorie calculator program in iGoogle as a homepage. It is meticulous, but it also give you a better understanding of food in general. Giving up sugar always worked for me but then when I crack I feel horrible and when I go back to sugar it ALL COMES BACK. Is it sacrilege to suggest Splenda in one's tea? That's how I take my coffee and I actually like it better!

  2. Counting calories is definetely the best method, I agree. I've lost weight like that before but until you start counting you don't realise how much of the food you like has 100000's of calories! Such a shame. We have Splenda where I work so I try to substitue normal sugar for it but it's veryy sweet. I also question whether brown sugar would be better? But for the past 2 days I've managed to just drink water so wahey x

  3. The best way to lose weight is to have 6 small meals a day, not three. Also eat a big breakfast filled with protein. NO SODA. Drink only water and green tea sweetened with agave syrup. Do not eat anything with refined sugar/no white foods. Let me know how it goes.

    XOXO,

  4. Thanks for the advice Joisey! Eating 'little&often' is the best way so I've read but all the 'green tea' stuff I find hard to stick to! I like my tea good and normal lol needless to say I've since decided to postpone the diet because I work with cakes and I'm too disorganised to bring fruit everyday! xXx
